S Square relays on the concept of providing a comfortable, creative environment for designers in different fields to interact, study and create. Design students, artist, interior designers, architects, fashion designers and graphic designers will be able to study, work on their projects and design in an innovative atmosphere that will bring together varies key support services in one place.

Sustainability was a main factor throughout the design. It was addressed in details in this project as the following fields; Interior Air Quality, Noise Control and Acoustics, Indoor Lighting, Materials Selections, and Creative Design Solutions.

The design concept was inspired from the western astrology, where it is believed that the universe is formed by the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water. Each zone of the project took an element. The four zones are :

1- Designers' Cafe Area

2- Drafting Lounge Area

3- Study/Library Area

4- Outdoor Area

Designers' Cafe Area

The Cafe holds different seating designs that utilised the entire space, along with some customised furniture here and there.

Drafting Lounge Area

The drafting lounge area is designed for architectures, interior designers, artists and any individual that would like to use large tables to work on.

It is next to the cafe, allowing the cafe service to be provided in this area, thus increasing the ability to stay longer and spend more.

The inspiration of the space is the earth element, so massive acoustical trees were designed to indicate it and to also solve any eco that would come from the double height ceiling in this area.

The colour pallet reflected the different hues of fire, starting from warm yellow to red. They applied through the furniture.

Library/Study Area

The design concept applied in this area was the water element. So the beach waves were the perfect inspiration for this zone.

The ceiling had reflected the movement of the waves where it has strong curves at the beginning and it cools down and spreads out once it reaches the shore. The acoustical customised ceiling applied the same dynamic where the curves were stronger above the seating area and it cools down until the end.
