MOROCCAN THEME RESIDENTIAL PROJECT

A freelance designer had landed this project in AlKhawaneej Area, Dubai.  And approached the company to co-design, produce and supervise with her certain areas in the house. The residential space represents a Moroccan design theme, with extensive gypsum patterns and wood details in every room, almost shifting this house into a modern museum.

We were responsible about designing and manufacturing the following areas:

- Dinning Room (except the lose furniture).

- Dinning Washroom

- The Stairs

- Master Bathroom

All the space drawings and the furniture details for these areas were produced by me. The furniture pieces were produced in Cairo, Eygpt, in the company's furniture factory.

The dinning washroom area had three sinks with one major mirror unit in the middle, that was produced as one piece, merged with two full mirrors on the sides. The three pieces were produced in Eygpt and shipped and assembled on site in Dubai.

The stairs were the most challenging part, as the existing steps were not equal in size. in addition, each step railing has an arch. which caused a design problem. As any changes in the size of the step will result in changes in the size of the arch in the railing. It was important to sustain the arch size, as any changes in it will be noticeable. Thus the railing was designed with 4cm frame that can be decreased to fit the step, due to the fact that the 4cm edges are plain wood, the naked eye can hardly notice any changes in them.

The stairs railing has mother of pearl inlay pattern in it, with hand-carved patterns. And the first floor railing has a mashrabeya pattern in it. Which merged beautifully with the Moroccan theme of the house.
